Christmas Decorations

Because we were living in the apartment last year and did not get to decorate for Christmas as much as we would have liked, we were really excited to decorate this year.  Daddy got all of the boxes out of storage and from various other places last weekend and before that so we were ready to pull the boxes in the house and start decorating today.  Daddy put the finishing  touches on the yard decorations while Collin and I worked on the decorations inside.

I was shocked but Collin helped decorate most of the day.  He was especially interested in decorating both trees.  He asked questions about each ornament including what an ornament was.  he especially liked the stories about the ones he either made or that were pictures of him.  Instead of putting the tree up in the office like we did in years before, there was not as much room in there now so we put it up in the main room by the TV.  We really like it there because we can see it all the time.   He did a great job with placement of the ornaments leaving about a foot at the bottom empty because Burke might eat those ornaments.  There are at least lights at that level so it does not look too bad.
Several boxes out and ready to decorate the tree

Busy hanging the ornaments.  He did not ask for much help.

Reaching as high as he could for this one.
We found the small tree we used last year in his room at the apartment and put this one together as well.  I told him this would sit on the dining room table for us to look at while we eat.  He really liked that idea.
He had to include ribbon on his tree like we did on the big one.

After including the ribbon, he moved it around so it was just where he wanted it.

The finished tree.  He got tired and did not want to hand the rest of the ornaments....until later tonight.

Mimi was missing us and stopped by for the afternoon.  Collin LOVED having Mimi over so someone would play with him.  He showed her the tree and then wanted to play in his room.  While they did that, I tried to visit with Mimi but he kept telling me that my time was up.  What a stinker!  They played in his room and then outside throwing the ball and not sure what else.  I was busy putting the boxes away and cleaning up the house to get ready for the work week.

I did get to visit with her because she did stay for several hours and left just before dinner so she could be with Grandma Filla for dinner.
I stopped the two of them from playing to take a least one picture of the decorated house.  You can see the big tree in the background.

Daddy did a fantastic job on the outside of the house

I love the tree!  We got the angel this weekend.

A new addition this year.  I like how this casts a Merry Christmas shadow on the house.  Not sure if you can see it in this picture.
