Parade and Friends

This morning, we participated in the neighborhood Fourth of July parade. This was Collin's first. When we arrived at the gathering area before the parade, Collin did not want to get out of his stroller. He eventually did only to be put back into the stroller because it was time for the parade to start. There were several smaller kids there riding their bikes or being pulled along in a wagon. This one boy about Collin's age was peddling a small tractor. He demonstrated his driving skills by making sure he rode into all of the puddles that had accumulated from the week's worth of rain. Collin was prepared to jump into the puddles because he was wearing his fireman's boots. He was not interested in doing this though.

At the end of the parade was refreshments. Collin and Daddy enjoyed some ice cream while I was craving a cup of water. It was so muggy this morning because of all the rain we have had.

We went home to change after the parade to then meet Aunt Lisa and Timmy and also Ms Susan, Jacob and Charlotte at a local indoor playground. Collin knows the last two kids from school. They both have moved to Primary level so Collin does not get to see them much. When we arrived, Collin was clingy until he found Jacob and Charlotte already playing on the equipment. He soon joined in and only stopped by to see me to check to make sure I was OK. haha. Lisa and Timmy arrived about 10 minutes later and all of the kids joined Timmy in the 2 year old section. Here is how much fun they were having:

We spent the rest of the day getting ready for our July 4th party at the house. I would have thought Collin would have taken a nap by 2pm today with all of the activity he had this morning. He did not fall asleep until after 5pm and only because he was resting on the couch with Daddy. Ms Susan and Jacob came over later to bring dinner and play. Lisa and Timmy also stopped by to bring food for the party tomorrow. He finally went to bed around 9:45pm. I hope he gets enough sleep for the party tomorrow.
