First Time Skiing = Tired Little Boy

....and this is why the place is called Angel Fire!

After the boys woke up to a sunrise like this, they went to the Angel Fire ski mountain to be in ski school all day.  It was Collin's first time ever to ski but I assumed he would do well because he is so athletic.  Foard was also in his class and could show him so skills if he had questions.  Dad planned to get some things done around the house so this would good that the boys would be entertained and had something to do for several hours.
Hawkins, Foard and Collin
Here is Collin coming down the mountain for his last run of the day before getting picked up by Dad.

When he was finishing the ski school, he noticed his elementary school friend was also there.  He was so excited to see William.  Because Foard has skied before, he will be moved up a level the next day.  William is new to skiing like Collin, so they will be in the same class tomorrow (or really today because this happened yesterday but Mom was too tired to write about Collin's ski day).

When I talked to him that night, Collin said his favorite thing he learned was how to stop and splash some snow (guess the snow is melting to be splashy...and it should be because it's in the 50s during the day.  That's Spring snow skiing for ya!).  He also liked learning the "pizza" which is holding the skis in a wedge formation which slows the skier down.

While the two other boys went night skiing (Collin still needs a few more lessons before attempting this), Collin and Dad stayed home to rest after a long day.  I would think he was tired.  Look at the map below of where he skied for the day.  He had a tracker on his ankle that produced this report at the end of the day.  There IS snow on the mountain.  This uses a picture from the summer so you can see all of the trail markings better.
