Broken, But Not Bad News at All

We had a doctor appointment with an orthopedic surgeon this afternoon.  He looked at the X-rays, examined Collin's thumb and concluded that the break was not on his growth plate.  Therefore, he said that Collin should refrain from physical activity especially school recess and basketball games for the next two weeks.  He does have to wear the brace on his arm always unless he is bathing.

We have a follow up appointment in two weeks to take new X-rays and see how much the break has healed.  He said that kids heal really quickly so he expects that Collin will be out of commission for 2 weeks and possibly 4 weeks at the most.

This is great news!  We will go ahead and register him for baseball.

The break is just about the white mark on the right side of the X-ray.
