Collin's First Home Run!!!!

First Saturday baseball game. Collin must have been excited because he got up at 5:15am ready to have breakfast and go to the game.  He has also been eating A LOT this week so I am sure he is in a growth spurt.  The moment finally arrived when he was on the baseball field for a practice before the 9am game. Collin was eyeing the “magic bat” that he used in batting practice yesterday afternoon. The bat is longer and the barrel is a little wider.  This helped him hit almost every ball AND hit it farther.  Hence the reason he and the coach called it a magic bat after that.  At his first bat of the game, he hit a line drive to right field and brought in two runners.  Then next time….drumroll…..he hit a home run to right field with the bases loaded!!!  The final score was 14-15 (they lost) and Collin was responsible for half of the team’s runs.  SOOOO proud of him!!!  Grandma H was there to see him  do all of this and so was Foard and his mommy.  They were there because after the game, we had plans to head to the Zoo for a few hours.  The day was perfect to be outside.

We had a good time while at the zoo for almost 3 hours.  I found out that Collin goes through the zoo much slower than his friend, Foard.  Collin wanted me to tell him about most of the animals we saw and then stand there to watch them for several minutes.  Foard, on the other hand, is more like me when I am in a museum.  Look at the animals, move on, next animal, move on.  He could look at several exhibits/habitats within 5 minutes where it was taking Collin 5-8 minutes to look at one.  This did cause the boys to fight with each other a little because Collin was too slow and Foard was too fast.  Turns out, food helped this a lot.  We ate near the giraffe habitat and the boys liked being so close so they could watch the giraffe eat and use their long, black tongues.  If there was anything to climb or looked like it would be fun to climb, the boys would be climbing and smiling the entire time.

Climbing to look at the rats....yuck!

"Mommy, the lion is liking his balls".  Umm...thanks for that information.

"Mommy, that bear is pooping off the side of the wall".  Smart bear.

Loved watching this giraffe eat

Love this kid!  Can't you tell he was having fun?

Collin and Foard

"Where did he go?"

Leopard, cheetah mix.  The boys loved that they were able to get so close.
