Traditional Zoo Lights Tour

Collin and I had a great time looking at the Zoo Lights at our local zoo.  I was really nervous about the parking, line and crowed based on the last time we did this.  The traffic to the zoo was expected for 6pm.  However, we found a parking spot done the first aisle I drove down.  I told Collin that we have been luck so far so we are off to a good start.  There was a huge line for tickets when we arrived but I planned ahead and bought ours online.  We walked right up to the gate....we were in!  We spent the next 2 1/2 hours walking around looking at the lights and the animals that were out.  We could also walk through the buildings.  I was shocked when Collin did not want to walk through the Reptile building.  He wanted to save his time and walk through the Aquarium AND he was hungry.

Instead of walking the route the zoo wanted us to take, we walked the opposite direction.  We have done this before because it's not as crowded this way until we get to the end which is really the beginning.  At this point, people have finished dinner and have made their way to the zoo.

We decided we really liked the blue, purple and pink lights the best.  Collin also got a light wand that he still plays with since we have been home.

While walking around, Collin said, "I am having so much fun, aren't you Mom?"  Well, I sure was and him saying that made all of the effort to get to the zoo worth it.  We stopped to have some dinner and watched the people walk by.  We then headed to the entrance based on Collin reading the map and signs along the way.  I likes to be the tour guide.

One of our favorites.  The lights were memorizing!
Perfect for the season and how we were feeling while walking around.
Love the smile on his face in this one.  I know he was having a great time.
This is what a Mommy does for her kids, right?  Carries everything so they can have fun.
Loved the train!
In the middle section of the zoo.
