Lacrosse - Silver Champions!!

What a fun inaugural season of lacrosse! I had no idea how much fun this sport could be.  Since the last post, Collin continued to play well and very aggressive especially trying to help his team members get a goal or to get a goal himself. The team played well enough to land in the silver bracket for the championship games. One game before the championship game, our goalie quit so the team was in a pickle. Collin stepped up to play goalie for half of each game because Coach thought he had a really good hand-eye coordination. However, the coach did say that he hated to lose Collin off the field. Turns out that that decision was a good one because the last game went into overtime with Collin as a goalie. The team that scored first would win. Collin stopped an attempt at the goal, passed it to a team member close to him who then passed it to another team member who eventually scored the winning goal. My heart is actually pounding again as it did at that moment that play happened. So exciting to see the kids play so well until the very last second.  That play earned our team the honor of being the Silver Bracket Champions. Collin was awarded the game ball for that last save that made the difference. So proud of these boys!

He is in jersey number 1 in these pictures.  How ironic, right?
