New Year = New School

For the past 18 months, Collin has been attending school at a temporary campus while his school is being rebuilt.  The day finally came for the kids to start in the new school on the first day back after the new year.  Collin was so excited to see the new school, his new classroom, a second floor, where he was sitting, AND the cool water bottle water fountain.  We have heard about the water fountain for a few weeks now.  Before heading back to school, the kids could tour the new school the day before school started for the new year.  We were excited to attend this with Colin but he did not want to do it.  He wanted to be surprised to walk through the school and experience it on his first day back.  "I will have that memory of the surprise to think about".  Very insightful....so, as hard as it was, we did not attend the opening.

He and Dad were excited about being able to ride bikes to school again.  I think they really missed doing this.  The temporary campus was too far.

Look at the bike racks already full with bikes
Stairs!!!  2nd Grade is on the second floor

All smiles looking around at the new school
Outside his new classroom
View from the door.  Collin is on the left taking off his jacket.
View looking at the door.  There are windows on both walls letting in a lot of light and a view of the trees.  Collin's desk is in the back on the top left.
Facing the front of the class.  Collin is sitting in the middle next to Trace
Collin LOVES his new school.....and it would be hard not to.  I was the Mystery Reader Friday.  What a difference from the old school and the temporary building. It was welcoming to be in the building and so nice.  I did not want to leave.
