Dancing Little Boy

Look how cute he looks
We traveled out of town this weekend to attend a friend's son's wedding.  We borrowed some nice clothes from a friend for Collin because he did not have anything that fit.

He was really good at the church ceremony that lasted 40 minutes.  He passed the time counting the number of lit candles, people standing at the front in the wedding party and the organ pipes.  He had questions one  after the other.

  • What are these books for (at the back of the pew in front of us)?
  • Why are the girls on one side and the boys on the other?
  • Why do we have to stand?
  • When can we eat?
  • Will we sing like other times in church?
  • Can I lay down?
  • Why is she crying (someone attending the wedding)?
  • Why do the girl's match?

At the reception, he was focused on when he was going to get to eat and when.  Thankfully, they had some cheeses and fruit to eat while waiting for the wedding party to arrive.  They did and then questions started again:
  • Can we eat now?
  • Why are they dancing by themselves?
  • Are they going to dance the entire time?
  • I am bored.  What can I do?
Finally, we ate dinner and then the dancing started.  Dad said Collin needed to ask me do dance.  He was reluctant at first looking at the dance floor and noticing there were not many people dancing yet.  He said he was nervous and did not want people watching him.  I finally convinced him to dance with me a little.  He did a fantastic job guiding me around the floor.  He watched what the other guys did and then did what they where doing.  He thankfully did not try to spin me.  Here are a few pictues from the multiple times we danced.  He then wanted to do some of the line dances with Dad and I.  We were really proud of him staying on the dance floor and giving it a try.

After the reception, we went to the parent's suite to play some card games and visit. Collin hung out with us until after 11pm.  He was not tired but I knew he needed to get back to the room and rest.  He wanted to watch a movie and feel asleep within 20 minutes.  Thank goodness...momma was tired.
