Today was another full day of family and friends. I knew by the time I wrote this blog post that I would be exhausted from the weekend. Collin, however, did not seem more tired because he went to bed at the usual 9ish time.
This morning, I swam 500 meters at the club pool while Collin watched Dora the Explorer. My next race is 2 weeks away so I needed to get more swim training in. Collin loves to go to the gym anyway. This morning, the kid's area was full of kids which made me feel better.
After the gym, we left there to meet Matthew, Jacob and their mommy, Ms Maria. Both boys have been talking about seeing each other so the mommies thought it would be good to get together at least for lunch. We met at a place that was supposed to have a sand pit for the kids to play it. When we arrived, we found out that this location does not. Fortunately, the waitress put us in a corner so the boys could run around if they needed to. They actually did really well and sat in their chairs the entire time we were there. Collin was not hungry and only at chips and queso. He is like his Mommy there...because I love chips and queso and can make a meal out of it. Collin was more interested in Jacob, "the baby", instead of talking to Matthew much which I was a little surprised by. Matthew was too funny using sanitizer wipes to wipe down the side of his drink, his straw, his mommy's straw....and even his teeth! I had to laugh at that. Here are a few pictures of what a mommy looks like with a 3 year old and 1 year old ready to go:
We got the boys together outside before we loaded them up to hopefully take naps on the way home (which Collin was not interested in doing).
After getting gas and getting the car washed, we headed home to rest for about 15 minutes before the next set of friends arrive. Madison, Kyana, Jess and their mommy plus Timmy, Leah and their parents arrived to swim in the pool and then play in the playroom. We all were in the pool so long that we left little time for the kids to play in the playroom. Madison and Kyana swam while Timmy and Collin sat in floats. Leah did not say a peep and looked like she enjoyed sitting in her boat with her hat and glasses. Jess, who is 2 months old, fell asleep in her mommy's arms. After two hours, we got out for the girls to leave. Timmy and Collin had a snack...which turned out to be Collin's dinner because he was not hungry later. He had sliced cheese, crackers and strawberries.
We had to get ready to attend Ryan and Yoko's baby shower. They had a surprise yesterday when Aka decided he wanted to be born 3 weeks early. Collin did fall asleep on the way to the shower...figures. He wanted me to carry him for the first 10 minutes until he figured out there were other little boys there that he could play with. Then, Melia arrived and Collin was REALLY happy she was there. Those two played together the rest of the time we were there. He did get upset when the gifts were brought into the living room to be opened. He told the dad that the gift he brought in was his. Collin did not understand that it was a gift from us and we were leaving it for Ryan and Yoko. Melia fortunately distracted him because she was eating cake. He wanted "banilla" (white cake) which I knew he would only eat one bit of.
